Extra Curricular
Learning that reaches beyond the classroom walls
Holistic learning flows beyond the classroom to movement, language, culture, curiosity and connection. At Parklands School, we ensure education for our students is a lived experience, which is why we connect our Montessori inspired philosophy with our Enriched Learning programs to nurture the whole child.
In doing this we offer hands on opportunities that awaken the senses, spark independence, and connect children meaningfully with themselves, their community, and the world around them.
These experience help our students grow in courage, develop confidence, and thrive creatively. Through their unique learned experiences, we begin to help shape who they are, and who they will become. It's how we inspire learning for life.

Swimming Lessons
All students from Pre Primary to Year 4 take part in in-term swimming lessons each year at the Albany Leisure and Aquatic Centre. Our Year 5/6 students' swimming lessons are ocean based and held at Emu Point. Over a dedicated fortnight, students build confidence in the water while learning vital life skills.

Excursions
Designed to spark curiosity, deepen understanding, and build connection with the world around us. Whether exploring local bushland, visiting community, or engaging in hands-on learning beyond the school gates, our excursions support independence and real-world discovery.

Noongar Language
All students from Years 2 to 6 participate in a weekly Noongar Language and Culture program where ancient stories, sounds, and wisdom of Menang Country come alive in natural settings.

Music Lessons
Music is woven into the rhythm of school life at Parklands. From playful class sessions in the early years to lunchtime choir rehearsals and optional private lessons in voice, piano, theory and guitar. Students are encouraged to explore sound, expression, and performance in ways that build confidence and joy.
