Pepper, Our Wellbeing Dog
Our Gentle Four-Legged Teacher of Empathy, Calm & Connection
Pepper, our purpose-trained wellbeing dog, brings a calm, reassuring presence to every corner of our school. Backed by research showing that therapy animals boost motivation, lower stress and build pro-social behaviour, he helps our students name their feelings, practise self-regulation and build confidence in both one-on-one moments and whole-class socio-emotional literacy sessions.
Each school day, Pepper joins our students through:
Morning & Afternoon Meet-and-Greets: Showing kindness, a sense of belonging and providing social connections before lessons begin.
Pat, Chat & Chill Lunchtime Sessions: A quiet space for students to pause, recharge and practice empathy.
Literacy Support: Where students read aloud to Pepper, strengthening their fluency and confidence.
Classroom Activities: By participating in small-group learning to boost engagement, focus and overall wellbeing.
Come and meet Pepper at your next school visit or tour to see how he works to develop care, compassion and connection within our students.
