Student Wellbeing Officer
Student Support When It Matters Most
Student wellbeing is woven into everything we do at Parklands School, and we're proud to have a dedicated Student Wellbeing Officer, Sarah, in a role made possible through the Australian Government's National Student Wellbeing Program.
Sarah brings both warmth and wisdom to our school community. With a background in psychology and current studies in Education, plus hands-on experience supporting children at Can Do Albany, she works side by side with students, staff and families to nurture emotional literacy, build social skills, and offer real-time relational support.
This Wellbeing role complements our broader wellbeing, peace and mental health initiatives, including:
Pastoral care for students,
Individual and small group sessions focused on social-emotional learning,
Lunchtime support with proactive, in-the-moment guidance
Collaboration with our Inclusive Education Coordinator and Wellbeing Team.
With a proactive, connection-first approach, Sarah supports students in learning how to pause, self-regulate, and rejoin play or friendships with confidence. These moments of co-regulation are powerful - helping students develop the essential social and emotional skills they need to navigate busy, unstructured environments like the playground.
