Candice Paffey

Year 4

Originally from England, I came to Australia ten years ago initially intending to travel, but quickly fell in love with Albany and found immense joy working as a dairy farm manager, which became my all-time favourite job.

Prior to moving to Australia, in 2012 I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary Craft, specialising in kiln-formed glass sculpture. While I have always had a passion for the arts, teaching has been a dream of mine since childhood and, finally, after many fulfilling years of travel and hands-on experience, I decided to pursue that calling, graduating with a Master of Teaching in 2023. My favourite teachers growing up were those who shared stories from their own lived experiences and adventures, so I feel incredibly privileged to now be sharing my own stories with students and bringing a sense of wonder to learning through real-world connections.

I feel very lucky to begin my teaching career at a school like Parklands that champions my passion for holistic education and child-centred learning. My greatest joy in teaching comes from watching students grow in confidence as they discover their own strengths and passions, and teaching at Parklands enables me to support students in that journey, within the nurturing environment children need to truly thrive.

Qualifications:
  • Master of Teaching (Primary Education)
