Freya Disley

Music Specialist

I was first inspired to become a teacher by my mum - she was my violin teacher from the age of 3 - 16. I was lucky to attend a school with an amazing music program, where I found further inspiration from teachers who had bold and creative musical ideas that led to so many incredible opportunities, such as performing with my school choir and orchestra in the UK, Europe, and Singapore.

Something my students might not know about me is that I love learning languages, and studied Italian, German and French alongside Music when I was at university. While studying violin at university, I also worked professionally as a choral singer and have had some amazing experiences, performing with The Rolling Stones, Guy Sebastian and the Hilltop Hoods, and for Queen Elizabeth and King Charles! I believe that anyone can learn to sing well, and for me, it all started with my school choir. I love that I get to share my skills and knowledge with the Parklands Choir and our rehearsals are always a highlight of my week. The staff and students at Parklands have such an uplifting energy, which is what inspires my own creativity and passion for teaching.

Qualifications:
