Ingrid Storm
Board Member
I joined the Board of Parklands School with a desire to continue to contribute in retirement, drawing on the knowledge and skills I have developed over a 40 year career in clinical and organisational psychology.
As a psychologist I have always brought a systemic perspective to understanding both how people become stuck and how they can be supported to flourish. The common thread through my career has been a drive to understand the conditions and factors that contribute to the physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual well being of individuals and groups in personal and work contexts.
I developed a good understanding of the governance role and accountability of a Board over several years on the Board of Albany Community Hospice.
One of the main reasons I decided to become a part of the Parklands community is the strong emphasis on play and learning in the natural environment. Recent research confirms the benefits of these approaches in helping children learn in ways that support their emotional and physical wellbeing. Parklands School has created an innovative and supportive learning environment with a focus on the whole child including their community. I fully support this approach and look forward to making a positive contribution.
