I joined Parklands as a graduate at the age of 40. As a child, I attended eleven schools in Scotland, SA and WA, which gave me an understanding of the importance of students being confident, resilient, and emotionally intelligent individuals with the capacity for ongoing learning. The joy of teaching stems from the numerous “aha!” moments our students experience as we help them build skills and develop pride in their personal, social, and academic pursuits.

I currently teach PE and Literacy Support, and have taught students from Pre-Primary to Year 7, across all subjects. I love the trusted, creative autonomy we have to design integrated projects that connect with students’ varied abilities and interests. I love watching students collaborate, achieve and encourage one another in class tasks, concerts, sporting events, and social interactions. I am proud to have published work in educational books, created award-winning videos that showcase Parklands School, and introduced new sports programs, including interschool events. Teaching is both challenging and fulfilling, and I feel privileged to have worked with Parklands’ families for the past 17 years.
