Board Chair

My journey with Parklands began 17 years ago at a kindy sausage sizzle, raising funds for playground equipment. As a young family without extended family in Australia, we were looking for a place where we could feel supported and connected. A teaching friend recommended Parklands, and from our first visit, it felt like the right fit. That sense of belonging and community has remained ever since. Over the years, my involvement grew - from volunteering with the P&F to taking on committee roles, and now serving as president of the board. It’s been a privilege to give back to a school that has had such a positive impact on our family.

With two of my three children now graduated, I continue to see the long-term value of Parklands’ Learning for Life motto in their lives - and in mine. The school’s influence contributed to my own career shift from Marketing Communications to Education. What began as a practical decision to be more present for my children evolved into a lasting passion. I now lead a Student Experience team at TAFE. Parklands played a significant role in that transition, helping me see the value and impact of lifelong learning.

There is so much to like about Parklands: the caring staff, strong values, and the way every child is seen, supported, and encouraged to grow in confidence. I’m proud to serve on the board alongside dedicated professionals and am especially encouraged by the growth of the school’s wellbeing program. I look forward to continuing this journey and supporting a school that truly lives out its values of community, kindness, education, and confidence.
