Stacy Murphy
Year 6 Teacher
Originally a Chartered Accountant in the UK, I emigrated to Australia and stepped away from my corporate career to raise my family. During my children’s early schooling, I witnessed the profound impact a nurturing teacher can have on a child’s confidence, wellbeing and love of learning. This inspired me to retrain as a primary school teacher and seek environments where emotional wellbeing is valued alongside academic growth - an alignment I found when first introduced to Parklands School during a professional placement.
My teaching approach is grounded in strong relationships and a deep respect for each child’s individuality. I aim to create meaningful learning experiences tailored to the students and community I teach, linking learning wherever possible to real-world contexts. I believe that when students feel safe, understood and see purpose in their learning, they are empowered to take ownership of their progress and develop the confidence to thrive.
I was delighted to return to Parklands this year to teach Year 6 - a time marked by growth, responsibility and memorable milestones. Something my students may not know is that I spent almost two years travelling Australia in a very small caravan with my large family, including two cats and a dog! The adventure created lifelong memories and fostered a greater sense of curiosity and resilience that I hope to bring into my classroom.
